Daniela Stein, Stuntfrau
December 20, 2017 | 37 min | Source: BR
She’s a powerhouse who thrives on adrenaline: getting run over, leaping from rooftops and cliffs, set ablaze, or shot – this is everyday life for Daniela Stein. For almost 30 years, she has worked as a stuntwoman, making her one of the leading figures in her profession.
Over the course of her career, she has performed in more than 300 films and series, including Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Fatih Akin’s Goodbye Berlin (Tschick).
As she puts it: “Of course I drive better than men do.”
Her specialties range from car stunts and fight choreography to high falls. Even as a child, she was braver than the rest, and by the age of 14, she already knew what she wanted to be: a stuntwoman.
Still, doubts are part of the job. Sometimes she wonders if she pushes herself too far. But one thing she is convinced of: “Men feel the same way – they just won’t admit it.”
